Developed, updated, tested, and implemented maintenance procedures for various configurations. This is typical process that spans decades of technical business and development.
Demonstrated SCSI data transfer across ATM data circuit prior to creation of iSCSI. Represented UK manufacturer's preproduction release of product to demonstrate ultra low cost and practicality of remote data storage w/o cost of including remote computer for data management. Demonstrated virtual data vaulting service in mid 90's for pennies per megabyte.
Researched product histories for patent filing of multiples of design projects. Projects included: turbo-alternators, LN2 as fuel for gas turbine (CP2, Cryoelectric), data bus structure for ultra-high data movement between super computer and other systems.
Developed ultra high-speed data link similar to HiPPI channel. Prototype was developed and did not make production financing (FOCL, Inc.).
Managed
& started up several projects (inclusive of venture capital
negotiation) to provide intelligent data controllers for
multi-platform use in high-performance applications. Implemented
intelligent tape controller for Pertec tape drives and interfaced to
SCSI bus on Intel MPP super computer (SRM-2).
Project planning

Pioneer Standard – HAPI (Houston Application Performance Institute) was a 3rd party company that interfaced customers with high-end processing and storage equipment. The HAPI center was brought internal to the Houston office and after a year of successfully helping the sales staff close deals that meet customer requirements the center's function was moved to the home office. Participated in enterprise RFQ's, designs and installations for their Oil & Gas sales force.
Interface with Sharp Electronics to embed Pertec Interface in DAT 4mm tape drive. Won US contract for maintenance. Demonstrated full operation in Seismic data processing center as direct replacement for 1/2” tape drive. Self funded multi-week trips to Tokyo were required to interface with Sharp's sales; R&D & engineering staff members and our Tokyo partner.
For a non-profit (child care) resolved an issue wherein they needed a case management system to manage each child's dataset. An interview was conducted and parameters were obtained of which lead to the selection of one product from approximately 50. The case management system was then customized to meet the needs of unique forms. The users were taught how to input the data and the system was put online.
